(filmed from my beautiful HD flip cam, and cot-damn, YouTube kills quality…)

Friday was a day to remember at SXSW. And I wasn’t even at the “secret Metallica show.”

It started off with some panels and meetings at the convention center that were okay. The real fun began at the Smoking Section and Nah Right’s showcase/party. Not only were Eskay, Gotti, and TC good people, the threw a hell of a show.

It started off early with my man DJ Trackstar showing off his St Louis crew, and if you saw my Twitters (that just feels like it needs a pause after it), then you know these dudes were dope. Their videos will be up real soon.

Blu and Exile were there of course for their 103rd performance in two days. These guys are absolute work horses, and Blu must have no voice. It’s no wonder everywhere I see him he’s just chillin’, not saying a word.

It started to get interesting when Charles Hamilton hit the stage, talking about how bloggers hate everything he does, which I caught the tail end of in the above video, before he performed “Loser.”

It was hard to keep the camera on him, the guy’s pretty small, and so is camera, and I’m no camera man. I wonder if Charles realizes the reasons a large amount of people pick on him is because he’s showing a weakness by saying “hey guys, it really bugs me when you say I’m a dork.” That’s essentially all he’s doing. That was rule number one on the playground as kid: never let the bully know he bothers you.

After Charles, Mickey Factz, and Brother Ali proceeded to get the Peckerheads Bar (pause) poppin and ready for the headliner, Bobby Ray (B.o.B.), who by the way, still has bandmates who call him B.o.B., but it doesn’t look like the name thing phased him much at all.

Either way, Bobby Ray/B.o.B./that young southern kid has found his sound and his comfort level. He was right at home performing with his live band, and their energy and performance matched the energy of any of your favorite live rappers and a Ramones show at CBGB in ‘77 (I have to assume at least, my birth was 10 years away).

I’ve got some videos of that, and you’ll see them in the next post/tomorrow.

After that, 6th Sense, Outasight and the rest of the crew had a crazy night… which was also well documented, and is a story itself. Don’t worry at all, that will be unveiled very soon.

In the meantime, check the Twitter @ twitter.com/2manymcs for the most up to date info on what’s going on, as well as nice Blackberry-quality photos.
