Yep, this is why the 2ManyMCs crew was out in Rhode Island last night/early this morning. We were filming the Drake show at URI. Now, I don’t wanna gas anything up, but we may have the best footage of a Drake show thus far. This is just a tiny taste of what we’ll have droppin’ throughout the day for you. And I really mean a tiny taste because we’ve got the whole show…. from much better angles than this. We roll deep.

In the meantime, enjoy “Congratulations.”

DOWNLOAD: It’s Notherground Music

6th Sense sent this over the other day, and I’m just gettin’ around to posting this as I sit in the middle of no where in Rhode Island. I’m ready for that 5 AM bus to roll around…

That’s irrelevant though. It’s Notherground Music is a compilation of all the actual songs that were featured on It’s a 6th Sense Beat Yo!! So if you hadn’t heard the original tracks, now you know.

I don’t have a tracklisting, but check the original 6th Sense beat-tape track-list, or to give you a preview:

“It’s Notherground Music!!” contains songs from Both Nice, 6th Sense, The Kid Daytona, Black ELement, Talib Kweli, Wildabeast, Jelani, Old Money, Outasight, Harlem’s Cash, Skyzoo, Emilio Rojas, A Pinks, Mekka Don, U-N-I, and more.

This morning, I awoke to an email from Shawn promoting the second leak off of his newest mixtape IWG2: I Told You So, which is scheduled to be released on May 5th. Check The Single and a little video that will give you a bit more than I ever could in a small blurb!

DOWNLOAD: Statik Selektah - The Thrill Is Gone ft. Styles P & Talib Kweli

I’ll take Statik next to any producer today. After the album he did with Saigon, All in a Day’s Work, I don’t need to hear any more to confidently say this man has found his spot (pause?).

With the title of the song, I thought we were going to hear a B.B. King sample or interpolation, but that’s not the case (it’s a Biggie sample on the hook). The beat is smooth as hell, and Styles and Talib both give two strong verses.

(I’m in a rush right now, I’ll post the streaming version later)

I’ll be honest and say I was skeptical when I heard all these rave reviews about Rawse’s new album, but I’ve been shown I had no reason to be. I listened to it today and was pleasantly surprised. It is really good, and probably features the best production on an album in 2009 so far.

Here’s two tracks that didn’t make the album that leaked onto the net in the past few hours. The first is the “lost” intro to the album. He should have used it… it’s definitely worthy. The other track, “Everything You Want ft. Usher,” is presumably a leftover to Deeper Than Rap, but it’s a little weaker than the rest of the album if you ask me.

Thanks to NMC & illroots for the tracks.

DOWNLOAD: Cory Gunz- Caliber
LISTEN

Cory Gunz got my attention when he was one of the first to body “A Milli” last summer, and it’s been good seeing him regularly over at Rap Radar with his freestyles, but it’s even better to see him on his own ish, even if it’s a short track.

This should be official if it isn’t. It seems like something this dude would do.

I love trailers for anything music related. Well, I love the idea of them. I was always jealous as a music guy that we didn’t have the equivalent of the movie trailer. Mixtapes kinda served that purpose until they started getting better than the actual albums. So now we’ve evolved to actual trailers. Take that, movies.

Anyway, this video is the official announcement of New York’s The Kid Daytona’s mixtape, The Daytona 500. The 500 drops May 5, and Daytona’s official LP is looking at a June release.

Thanks to 6th for sending this over.
