DOWNLOAD: Boaz ft. Wiz Khalifa - How We Ride

Here’s a cut from Boaz’s The Audio Biography album. He teams up with fellow-Pittsburgher and 2ManyMCs regular, Wiz Khalifa. Sometimes when you get two guys from the same city together on a record, it comes off as disingenuous or forced. This is record is the complete opposite. Whoever produced it had perfect sense to put Wiz on this track. Both him and Boaz sound right at home. I’d venture to say it’s the best Boaz track I’ve been sent.

The Audio Biography is out now, and can be purchased on

Nato Caliph, Live at SXSW ‘09 from Mark DiSalvo on Vimeo.

Here’s a video I was sitting on for way too long. If you’ve followed the St Louis scene at all recently, you probably know about DJ Trackstar and Black Spade. Dig a lil’ deeper and you’ll find Nato Caliph, who I ran into at SXSW last month at the Nah Right/TSS showcase. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all, this guy is good.

More Nato coming soon.

YouTube version after the jump.

Remember when everyone was talking about Just Blaze, Drake (and possibly Jay) in the studio? Well here’s a little proof of 2/3 of that collabo coming together. It looks like this was streamed live at some point.

Skip to the end if you want to see the bulk of the actual music.

Maybe it’s because I’m not from the South, but Gucci is really THAT dude to you guys?

Were my eyes playin’ tricks on me or was that whole video filmed in his tour bus?

Scott Storch sat down with MTV to talk about where he’s been and if he was really in jail and in debt. He’s not in jail, he’s been battling a coke addiction, and is now in recovery. In the process though, he lost $30 million. How do you lose $30 million dollars in that short of an amount of time? At least he’s recovering and doing well though.

DOWNLOAD: The Outfit Feat. Kanye West, GLC, Timmy G, & Arrow Starr - “187th”

GLC just shared this vintage recording of him and Kanye from way back in the day (1998 I’m guessing by the picture’s date). That’s Yeezy on the beat and on the hook.

via GLC’s blog:

I just wanna say thank you to Ms. Donda West for saving our lives! She allowed me, Timmy G, Really Doe & Arrow Starr to get out the hood & come to her house to get out our dreams @ an early age when even our own family members thought we were crazy for wanted to make music! Without her ain’t no tellin’ how we would of ended up! God blessed us with her presents and in return we gave the world a peace of our world! This is an early recording from the group then known as “The Outfit” from 1996. It was produced by a young Kanye West & featured a young GLC, Timmy & Arrow Starr. Kanye lends his vocals on the hook. Without further due I give you the original

The Roots have been playing a weekly show at the Highline Ballroom (called The Jam), and as can be seen above, have a tendency to bring special guests. Here’s some footage of Joe Budden’s appearance last week, courtesy of OkayPlayer.

Hit the jump for the second part of the video.

Chester French - Jacque Jams

DOWNLOAD: Chester French Jacques Jams Vol.1

So, yesterday Chester French released their debut album Love the Future, which you can find on iTunes. I suggest you guys cop that because it is pretty much the shit. In the mean time before you get the album (which you will), here’s the mixtape, Chester French Jacques Jams Vol. 1. The mixtape has a lot of cameo’s on it including ones from my girls Solange and Janelle Monae. So it’s definitely worth listening to so enjoy.
