The short answer is that there’s going to be a lot of changes around here. ┬áThis is slowly becoming my own web home (it always was, though). As such, you deserve to know why 2ManyMCs isn’t exactly what it used to be.

I’ve been producing and formed a hip-hop group in the process, and that took up most of the past 5 months. We spent that entire time working on this:

I’m one half of Black Hoodie Rap. So if you put the 2 and 2 together to make 4, and realized Mark DiSalvo was one half of Black Hoodie Rap, but also is the name of the 2ManyMCs guy, then you’re good.

So anyway, if you’re interested, that’s where I’m splitting my time. Between that and my final year at Northeastern that is.

Hey Everyone,

As you know from the last post, we’re going through some changes. I just wanted to keep you posted to tell you all we’re not done, but we’ll be back in July. New content, interviews, videos, music; everything you expected and more. The previous post was a little sample/test of some of the new features/writing we’ll be doing… it’s just there as a test. I didn’t mean to tease ya’ll or anything like we were back already.

Just wanted to let whoever was left out there know that we ain’t dead. See ya in a few weeks.

-Mark

It’s been a solid week since you’ve heard from me and you’re probably wondering what’s up.

Since I started 2ManyMCs, I’ve experimented and tried to find what I/we could uniquely offer to you. The site is not even a year old, and like anything, it takes time to find your niche. I don’t think we’re there yet, but we’ve increasingly found more of a vision in some our original content; from the trip to SXSW, our Drake footage, and other small projects.

From now on though, 2ManyMCs won’t purely be a music purveyor or something that posts a track with little explanation. That’s not us, because most of that music is not stuff we’re breaking anyway. Of course, we’ll continue to hit you up with the stuff we think is dopest in hip-hop.

What can you expect: Interviews, more original video, writing/opinion pieces on stuff in hip-hop, and of course, the newest music.

I had a stated goal when I started this thing that I wanted to be a launching pad for artists who may have a difficult time breaking, and I want to do a better job of that. To help with that, when you email me, tell me ideas you have on how we can work together, and what you think is best. What’s the use in just posting a zShare link here?

I love trailers for anything music related. Well, I love the idea of them. I was always jealous as a music guy that we didn’t have the equivalent of the movie trailer. Mixtapes kinda served that purpose until they started getting better than the actual albums. So now we’ve evolved to actual trailers. Take that, movies.

Anyway, this video is the official announcement of New York’s The Kid Daytona’s mixtape, The Daytona 500. The 500 drops May 5, and Daytona’s official LP is looking at a June release.

Thanks to 6th for sending this over.

and he’s not telling where.

C’mon Jimmy, you said on Twitter last night you blew 5 g’s at the casino, so why does this video look like it was filmed on Razr in 2002?

The way some of these tracks sound, I would not be surprised if Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 did the impossible- back to back classic albums from one artist. Nearly 15 years after OB4CL’s release, in the age of mixtapes and YouTube, a guy from the days of old was able to keep himself relevant with a bunch of young people my age (21) and younger.

After listening to the Wu-Tang Clan quite a bit during my formative years, Raekwon became my favorite member of the Wu after the opening track of OB4CL, but even as a Rae stan, I never thought he’d have the longevity we all thought Method Man would have, or Ghostface has shown to have.

As far as Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 is concerned, there is apparently an April 7 release date pinned as of now (don’t count on that), and a video has been shot for what is probably the album’s first single, “Wu Ohh”…

The second track thought to be on the album, with good reason, is “Criminology Part 2.” If the name’s not a big enough clue…

And on top of all that, Rae has a mixtape due out in the next few weeks, titled Blood on the Chef’s Apron. Never one to leave us hangin’, Raekwon broke us off with a preview.

You know what, we may really see OB4CL2 in the next few months after all.

If you’ve sent me anything since around the holidays and haven’t seen it up on 2ManyMCs, it will be very soon. There’s been a method to the madness (or inactivity).

If I sent you a reply, it will be on even sooner.

If you’d like to see your stuff on 2ManyMCs, get at me.

Was just lookin’ around TSS and came across Tracy Morgan’s acceptance speech for 30 Rock’s award. I didn’t watch the Golden Globes (too many actors, not enough rappers), but I think I saw all I needed to between this and Media Take Out.

Young Jeezy- Who Dat

You agree? We may be, but this video isn’t exactly what I had in mind. How is this different from any other Khaled video to drop this summer?
