Friend of the site and UGHH VJ, Van Stylez sat down recently with Big Shug. These two dudes are hilarious when they get together, mainly because of Van Stylez’ borderline gay advances towards rappers, and the horror on their faces when he does (no homo).

Took a little longer than I thought to get back here and working again.

Sorry to all of you who check here daily. I guess it’ll only hurt me in the end.

Check back/hit refresh in a few minutes for some much needed updates.

So there’s a place called Flocabulary in NYC that puts out these videos weekly. They “rap” up the week for you, but in the realm of politics, and “grown man bidness.” I’ve been meaning to post these, but I’ll get on my shit and do it weekly. Plus, my friend puts together the videos. What’s up Lala.

I smell a Mazzi Walking Blog / Flocab beef coming.

I don’t really like being away from here for any extended period of time, but once a year isn’t bad, so I hope you’ll forgive me. I’ll be in DC all weekend at Howard Homecoming, likely computer-less, so I’ll check in with ya’ll on Monday.

Via his interview with Angela Yee and Kay Slay. 2nd part after the jump. It sounds like “Relapse” is the second installment in Em, 50 and Dre’s master-plan to unveil Detox.

Curtis appears in the interview too and reveals he broke Eminem’s knee playing ball.

Download: Maino - However Do You Want It (Produced By J.R. Rotem)

I saw this at Grandgood, and I echo their sentiments on this track 100%, but also want to add that a song with a beat like this just sounds so hip-hop.

Not a bad find for a Sunday, so check it.

Hip-hop and politics seem to be in a love affair, whether they want to acknowledge it or not. So, I’ll try and break it down for you.

If you follow American politics at all, you’ll see that John McCain started pushing a huge negative ad campaign against Barack Obama. Now, a few days later, he’s kinda going back on it, but he’s letting his posse do the shit talkin’ while he tries to look like the good guy. Kinda like this….

And now new word of a new Jay-Z diss against DJ Khaled and Fat Joe surfaced. You know Roc Nation was going nuts over this in the little time it had to brew. But here’s Jay squashing it on his part.

Now I ain’t comparing John McCain to Jay-Z, cuz that’s just blasphemy. My point is, that all the people who say “keep politics out of hip-hop,” or, “I don’t care what rappers have to say about politics,” should realize hip-hop is the same game as politics. It’s only natural that things will over-lap. Most of all, it’s only natural they’re acting the same way.

Rappers are people too, and I want to hear them talk about politics. Whether they sound like incoherent dumb asses, or articulate critics and advocates. Because they are “real people,” they can also be “real stupid” and “real smart.”

I love sports.

I love sports almost as much as I love hip-hop. But in the past few years I’ve been feeling like I’ve been slipping from sports, almost beginning to hate them to a degree.

And I just came to the realization early this morning as I lay awake coughing my lungs out, that I wasn’t hating sports, I’m hating sports culture.

Let me break it down for you

Exhibit A

Terrell Owens

I like TO. I’ve never had a problem with him. Why should I? I don’t know him, I’ve never spoken to him, and probably never will. Most of all, I’m not an Eagles fan, so I have no reason to dislike him. But blowhards like this guy…

…have been trying to convince me and the masses to hate TO for “his antics.”

What does this have to do with me hating sports?

So I figured for the sake of just posting up more music here, I’d start sharing with you all the song that was stuck in my head all day. I’ll try and do it every day, because after all, I got a different song stuck in my head every day.

What better way to start off then with a classic. Nas- The World is Yours. And bump Sony BMG for not letting me put the video here. Next best thing is the song itself I guess.

Download: D.I.T.C.- (D-Flow, OC, AG, & Boss Money) - Hard Hit (Prod. by Amed)

I guess that’s what it’s gonna have to be. One of my favorite crews, ever, will be releasing a new album November 18th, called The Movement. It’s just never going to be the same without Big L if you ask me, but if its the full DITC (including Finesse), then I am satisfied. And I wouldn’t leave ya hangin’, here’s a cut off the new album, “Hard Hit.”

Thanks to eskay.
