Every time I see something like this, my cotdamn soul feels good. It’s hard to imagine hip-hop without The Roots. Here’s some footage of them performing with the Boot Camp Clik at their weekly show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. I know the stans know about the performances by now, but they’ll always be worth mentioning to me.

YN posted some footage from is vault of a 2003 show Rocafella did in Puerto Rico, where the whole roster was in full force. Above is Kanye West performing “The Wire,” like it was his new single.

Damn.

That’s cuz it was his new single in ‘03.

2003 seems so ancient when you think of it like that. Hit the jump for Jay spittin’ a freestyle that later would become “The Threat,” and Freeway doin’ “Flipside.”

Well it’s definitely a video with the song, and it’s pretty crazy. And I mean crazy in every sense of the word: it’s good, it’s looks like it came from a lunatic’s mind, and it’s pretty disgusting, like TC said.

I’m still not sure if it’s official, do any of you guys know?

Update: I just learned it’s a Rap Radar exclusive, and it is legit.

If you ask me, this wasn’t one of the better cuts on Rawse’s new album, but I guess it had to be the next single for obvious reasons.

Nyle “Let The Beat Build” from Last Pictures on Vimeo.

This was one of my favorite cuts from Tha Carter III, and it’s even better to see it “re-done” in an even more clever way.

If you read Kanye’s blog with any regularity, you probably saw this over there, but I don’t think it can be posted enough. Apparently this was done all in one take. It looks better than most videos that are on the cutting room floor for months.

Not to mention this guy Nyle came out of no where really, and I like to think I’m pretty informed when it comes to this hip-hop biz…

Here’s Em’s latest video. From what I heard, it premiered on Cinemax last night… well Saturday night, it’s 3 a.m. Monday now (ha…). Yep, this is the Eminem single release strategy I remembered. Some things never change.

Here it is, the second half of the Drake show at URI on Wednesday. My apologies for not getting it out Friday evening, but early Saturday morning ain’t too awful. I’ll have these on Vimeo later today, but for now, enjoy the YouTube quality.

Thanks to B Nyce for helping edit all this, and a big shout out to all the URI students checking these videos out.

Hit the jump at the bottom for a bonus clip of Drake addressing the ladies at URI. I’m still amazed at how everyone knew every single lyric.
