The Roots have been playing a weekly show at the Highline Ballroom (called The Jam), and as can be seen above, have a tendency to bring special guests. Here’s some footage of Joe Budden’s appearance last week, courtesy of OkayPlayer.

Hit the jump for the second part of the video.

I thought it was hilarious that the day after Tahiry’s King Cover leaked…

Yeah, that one… anyway….

It was funny how a behind the scenes video to “Exxxes” dropped, with Joe damn near afraid to touch the chick in the video. (video in question below)

When Tahiry’s your girl, I guess I can’t say I’d blame him. As for the Exxxes video: Joey, that song is ill. The video isn’t. It’s too bright. A song like that needs an artsy feel and look.

However, your video gets enough of a thumbs up for the girl. Yeah, I can be that shallow. And like I said, it’s a pretty good song.

DOWNLOAD: Trackstar the DJ x TSS Present: Joe Budden - Pride and Paranoia (mixtape)

I get a lot of mixtapes, and I find a lot of mixtapes. This is one I found, but it didn’t take much effort as it’s brought to you by The Smoking Section, which I read every day anyway. Because I get so many mixtapes, I try to think of interesting ways to post them. You know, maybe on a particular day I should post them all, so you know where to come for some “Mixtape Madness” on any given day of the week (as you can see, I’ve thought of corny catchphrases already).

It all came crashing down when I realized Mixtape Monday is taken already (thanks MTV), and I currently cannot tell which day of the week it is up here in Boston because every day is gray and rainy. So it really doesn’t matter when I post them.

However, I digress, and am happy to be posting this mixtape, as it’s the latest from St. Louis’ DJ Trackstar (or Trackstar the DJ…). You can think of it as a nice blend of some of Joey B’s greatest hits. If you’re a stan, you know what you’re getting and I think you’ll like this. But, if you’re an internet and hip-hop newcomer, this is a good way to acquaint yourself with hip-hop’s number 1 YouTube reality show/v-blog star.

Looks like a lot of people blew this out of proportion (pause). People are eager for beef these days.

Also, Saigon is just distributing his latest Statik Selektah collab album via Amalgam Digital, he’s not an official artist, according to DJ Next via DJ ON&ON’s show in Boston. Joe calls in to give his thoughts on the whole situation.

LISTEN HERE:

Case closed as far as I’m concerned.

On a much more entertaining note, hit the jump for the latest Joe Budden TV episode, live on location at his video shoot for “Exxxes,” with a video girl almost as gifted as his girl Tahiry.

Thanks to Jump The Turnstyle for the info/audio.

I get off the plane in Boston to be greeted with that headline from my good friend Trees at JumpTheTurnstyle.

Apparently Joe Budden made some enemies on Thursday after a show in Boston, promoted by Edo G. According to Edo, Budden told the people not associated with the show to get off the stage because he “didn’t want it to be a sausage-fest.” Bean-town didn’t take too kindly to that, and Budden subsequently had threats against his life by Boston’s finest all night. In response to the “violation,” Edo G has “banned” Joe Budden from Boston.

I’m sure that’ll go over lovely with Amalgam Digital, Joey’s label, which is based in Boston. Ironically enough, both Edo G, and Amalgam Digital CEO, DJ Next appeared on DJ ON&ON’s Launchpad radio show last night to discuss what happened. Instead of what the obvious question would be to DJ Next (how do YOU feel about this), DJ Next proceeded to drop a bombshell:

SAIGON WILL BE SIGNING WITH AMALGAM DIGITAL.

Joe Budden knows about this too, according to DJ Next.

LISTEN:

Here’s the 2nd single off Budden’s upcoming album, Padded Room.

I have to be honest, I think one of the main reasons people followed the development of this song so closely is because Joe had his girl all over Joe Budden TV talking about it.

I mean, he tricked me into watching at least 3 YouTube videos about it…

Don’t believe me? Check all the videos with Ms. Tahiry after the jump.

Download: Joe Budden- Letter to Saigon (diss)

I thought Joe would be shying away from beef for AT LEAST a little bit after the Ransom thing, but damn this didn’t take long at all.

You’d think these two would get along. If you read me Saigon and Joe Budden’s individual resumes, I’d have trouble telling them apart: a rapper with talent and huge potential builds a stable following, signs a deal with a major label, gets screwed by the label, gets dropped from the label, and is itching to release “that record” that will put him in the spot he deserves.

Shit, they should start a super group.

Welp, your move, Saigon.

“Certain shit is a show, it’s not real…” - Joe Budden

Listen to Joe preach at 8:08.

Joe Budden was on Angela Yee’s show yesterday and DJ Vlad called in to discuss the “beef” going on between him, Budden, and Ransom. The thing is, it’s not a beef anymore because Joe Budden manned up in a way that was as foreign to hip-hop as republicans. Joe’s little monologue at the end might sum up things in the “journalism” and blogosphere world of hip-hop better than anyone I’ve heard lately.

If you want to know the particular incident(s) they’re talking about, I’ll let Jay Smooth explain:

…and he’s got a mixtape coming out, according to the video. Joe’s trying to get Fab to tell people how much doper he is than everyone in New York, and to start some shit, but Fab won’t bite. Smart dude, especially when Joe Budden’s in your face with a camera. They also talk about what they consider to be underground. Apparently Budden thinks he’s underground. That’s a word that means nothing today if you really think about. It’s not the late 90’s anymore.
