I didn’t think I’d ever hear a Soulja Boy sample on a Saigon or Statik track, but I like it.

Here are two pretty decent cuts from the new collabo album between Statik Selektah and Saigon. The two made an entire album together in 1 day, as you may have heard by now. If these were made in 24 hours, maybe Saigon should do more 24 hour sessions. The album, All in a Day’s Work, will be be released next Tuesday (March 17) on Amalgam Digital, as a digital-only release.

This album, along with his other upcoming street album, Warning Shots 2, are the two projects signed onto Amalgam Digital, contrary to what had previously been said about Saigon being a new official Amalgam artist. The big Greatest Story Never Told LP is still homeless, from what I’ve last heard.

Looks like a lot of people blew this out of proportion (pause). People are eager for beef these days.

Also, Saigon is just distributing his latest Statik Selektah collab album via Amalgam Digital, he’s not an official artist, according to DJ Next via DJ ON&ON’s show in Boston. Joe calls in to give his thoughts on the whole situation.

Case closed as far as I’m concerned.

On a much more entertaining note, hit the jump for the latest Joe Budden TV episode, live on location at his video shoot for “Exxxes,” with a video girl almost as gifted as his girl Tahiry.

Thanks to Jump The Turnstyle for the info/audio.

I get off the plane in Boston to be greeted with that headline from my good friend Trees at JumpTheTurnstyle.

Apparently Joe Budden made some enemies on Thursday after a show in Boston, promoted by Edo G. According to Edo, Budden told the people not associated with the show to get off the stage because he “didn’t want it to be a sausage-fest.” Bean-town didn’t take too kindly to that, and Budden subsequently had threats against his life by Boston’s finest all night. In response to the “violation,” Edo G has “banned” Joe Budden from Boston.

I’m sure that’ll go over lovely with Amalgam Digital, Joey’s label, which is based in Boston. Ironically enough, both Edo G, and Amalgam Digital CEO, DJ Next appeared on DJ ON&ON’s Launchpad radio show last night to discuss what happened. Instead of what the obvious question would be to DJ Next (how do YOU feel about this), DJ Next proceeded to drop a bombshell:

SAIGON WILL BE SIGNING WITH AMALGAM DIGITAL.

Joe Budden knows about this too, according to DJ Next.

Saigon gets it. All you have to do is listen to the first minute or two of the interview to see that he understands what’s really going on in the hip-hop world today. Not too many rappers from his “era” do, so let’s see you do it, Saigon da Don. And I do say “era” because eras don’t last long at all today.

That isn’t all they talk about though, as the good people at True Stories Radio delve into his relationship with Just Blaze, who he wishes was around today, and more. No mention of Joe Budden, though this is apparently only part 1 of the interview.

The quote of the interview….

“Remember when it was cool to be from New York when you were out of town?”

Download: Joe Budden- Letter to Saigon (diss)

I thought Joe would be shying away from beef for AT LEAST a little bit after the Ransom thing, but damn this didn’t take long at all.

You’d think these two would get along. If you read me Saigon and Joe Budden’s individual resumes, I’d have trouble telling them apart: a rapper with talent and huge potential builds a stable following, signs a deal with a major label, gets screwed by the label, gets dropped from the label, and is itching to release “that record” that will put him in the spot he deserves.

Shit, they should start a super group.

Welp, your move, Saigon.
